SolstadFarstad has awarded a five-year contract to provide its offshore support vessel fleet with dynamic positioning software to Global Maritime and UniSea.
The software is intended to avoid downtime on ships and boost the knowledge and experience of employees. It will operate alongside existing software aboard SolstadFarstad vessels.
Global Maritime chief executive Egil Kvannli said “This is the biggest contract in Global Maritime’s history for the implementation and documentation of dynamic positioning assurance on clients’ vessels.”
He noted that the business must change and become more digital and the contract would provide effective solutions for this.
SolstadFarstad’s chief operating officer Tor Inge Dale noted that it was a strategic solution for the company to choose delivery partners that can help set the company for a digital future.
