Brunvoll to deliver two-speed hybrid solution
The delivery from Brunvoll consists of a gearbox and CP propeller with a control system

Brunvoll has signed a contract with MAN Diesel & Turbo SE for delivery of a propulsion system to a pelagic trawler for shipowner Odd Lundberg AS of Norway. The vessel will be designed and built by Karstensens Skibsværft, Denmark. The equipment from Brunvoll is planned for delivery in Q3 and Q4 2018.

The delivery from Brunvoll consists of a gearbox and CP propeller with a control system. The propulsion system is a two-speed hybrid solution driven by a MAN 6L32 diesel engine in combination with an electro motor. The system is optimised for operation at two different propeller speeds in addition to boost mode. The system is further designed with floating frequency for optimised fuel efficiency and environmental friendly sealing solutions for zero emissions.

“We are proud to be selected as suppliers for Odd Lundberg,” said Brunvoll Volda chief executive Hallvard Pettersen. “Tailor-made propulsion systems are our speciality, and there has been a good dialogue in order to find the best technical solutions for this vessel,” Mr Pettersen continued.
